Pastor Anderson gave his heart to the Lord, and was baptised at the tender age of eight.   According to the Church's History, Lennett became Emmanuel's youngest member.   He is a graduate of Charles P. Allen High School in Bedford where he served as President of the Cultural Awareness Youth Group and was the first Black President of the Student Council.   He graduated with a Bachelor or Arts degree from Dalhousie University and a Master of Divinity degree from Acadia University.

After three years as a Naval Officer in the Canadian Armed Forces, Lennett was called into Pastoral Ministry.   He was commissioned as an Officer in the Chaplain Services and is currently the Unit Chaplain for HMCS Scotian.

Pastor Anderson is a dedicated Representative for the Provincial Baptist Youth Fellowship.   He is an executive member of the African United Baptist Association of Nova Scotia.   He served on the Board of Directors for the Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, and had the honour of representing the Youth of Nova Scotia as a Grade 11 student in the February 1993 edition of the National MacLean's Magazine.   April 12, 2004, Pastor Anderson was privileged to be featured with Emmanuel Baptist Church in the National MacLean's Magazine representing "Heroes of the Cross"  ( magazine cover,   magazine contents,   magazine center,   website cover,   website contents ).     For his faithful service, Pastor Lennett has received many distinctive awards: the Lieutenant Governor's Award; a recipient of the Halifax County-Bedford District School Board Medal of Excellence; the Medal of Excellence from the Navy League of Canada, and he graciously accepted the University Silver Medal in Theology from Acadia University.

Pastor Anderson returned to his home church in 1999, was inducted as full time Pastor at Emmanuel Baptist Church on April 28, 2000, and subsequently was ordained into the Christian Ministry on September 2, 2001.

Pastor Anderson presently serves as a member of the School Advisory Committee, and Region Representative for the Acadia Divinity College Alumni Association.   He is in great demand as a public speaker and as a guest speaker for revivals, youth retreats, anniversaries, conferences, and special programs.

Truly the Lord has blessed him with special gifts to carry out God's Vision for Emmanuel.   Through his presentation of the Gospel, Pastor Anderson has been a spiritual inspiration to many.   Stemming from his leadership, the count of worshippers at Emmanuel continues to significantly increase weekly, folks travelling from across the province to participate in the Praise and Worship Service.   The adherent membership includes people of various denominations and cultural backgrounds - exemplifying unity within the Body of Christ.   His messages of hope and deep healing, which abound from God's wisdom and compassion, have been a guiding light to a very successful and highly rewarding worship service--the church family.   His continued commitment to teach and reach souls, by living the WORD OF GOD with conviction and boldness, is echoed through a major renovation project and new facility currently underway at Emmanuel.   Pastor Anderson loves the Lord with every breath that he takes and with every step that he makes!
