DAN-X RECYCLING LIMITED (DAN-X) was founded in 2009 by Mr. Dave Hall (President & CEO) and Mr. Dana Emmerson ( Vice President) to implement a service to recycle all mercury containing lamps, ballast, thermostats and other mercury containing devices. DAN-X RECYCLING is based in Dartmouth Nova Scotia and is the designated drop off site for Aevitas Lamp Recyclers based in Ayers Ontario.
The lamps are packed in special shipping cartons and ship by tractor trailer loads to the plant at Aevitas in Ontario to be recycled. This method not only reduces the cost for the end user by volume stock piling and reducing the freight cost, but also insures our customers that recycling is becoming the up most importance in the Maritimes to eliminate these toxic products from entering our waste stream.
With the high demand from local environmental agencies and groups abroad to help reduce the toxic and hazardous components that are getting into our atmosphere, Dan-X Recycling has had rapid growth since its inception ,and is committed to being a leader as an environmental solutions company with future plans to expand by having in place, a state of the art recycling plant to deal with all electrical lighting, in our Dartmouth depot.
As a final descriptive note, "Recycling is crucial for The Environment" and when final legislation is put in place to ban these products from our landfills, Dan-x will be preparing documents to secure funding to purchase the MRT processing plant that will allow us to offer complete recycling service for Atlantic Canada and to recover the mercury from these products.
